Indonesians love to eat. There are food stalls everywhere around the city and carts that even get pushed into your own neighborhood. These guys will actually cook something up for you right there in front of your house! I was advised by my girlfriend to not eat anything or I will be spending most of the day in the bathroom.Outside of food carts Jakarta has some great restaurants and fast food joints. The best place to try some of the cuisine is a clean environment is the mall. The first place i tried was a place call Bambi G or something like that. The food is fast, cheap and really good. Lunch with drink appetizer and beef noodles was like 25000 rupiah ($2.50).
Next stop a place called Senayan which is known for skewer dishes. I wish we had this place in the states. Look at the food in the photo.. so good. I even sampled an avocado drink. Tasted better than it sounded.
