Rich vs. Poor

As I wrote previously the balance of rich vs. poor in Jakarta was eye opening. The dollar goes far here for many things like food, services, local goods etc. but even I was suprised at the number of beautiful homes and shopping centers that litter the city. You name it Gucci, Prada yada yada its all here. I have never been to a place where you can drive down one street and see someone driving a Ferrari and see such incredible poverty and chaos on the other.

Just look at this photo of a typical mall in Jakarta, and this wasnt even the nicest one? Where is the priority in this country?
